Since 2004, Butler/Till has been a certified Women Business Enterprise (WBE) by The Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and we are proud to announce our 2023 recertification this month. Yes, this recognition means we champion the progress of women both inside and outside of our workplace, but why is it important to you, our peers, our clients, and our communities?
We’re a Diverse Supplier
Being women-owned/led means we are a diverse supplier, proving our commitment to serving as a socially responsible business and allowing us to live out being a diverse supplier in all elements of our agency. Adding diversity in the supply chain promotes a more equitable and inclusive business ecosystem, reflecting positively on a client’s commitment to social and ethical values. Diverse suppliers often bring unique perspectives, innovative ideas, and varied skill sets to the table. Studies show that female-led teams demonstrate increased cohesion, cooperative learning, and participative communication. There is also research that supports women, compared with men, enact their leader roles with a view to producing outcomes that can be described as more compassionate, benevolent, universalistic, and ethical, thus promoting the public good.
We’re Committed to DEIB
Being a women-owned/led enterprise means we are committed to advancing gender equality and equity for all. Our DEIB efforts are enhanced with our WBE certification, for example, we recognize that that inclusion can translate into financial results. According to Deloitte, when operating under an inclusive culture and talent practices, organizations are more profitable than their competitors and can generate up to 30 percent higher revenue per employee, and become eight times more likely to achieve positive business outcomes. Ultimately, the success and growth of women-owned businesses contributes to a more inclusive economy, reaffirming that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential parts of a thriving business ecosystem.
We’re Purpose-Driven
We put proof behind our purpose, we are committed to empowering underrepresented publishers, including fellow women-owned businesses, by helping advertisers invest media dollars with minority-owned organizations. We have a goal of doing at least 10% of our media buys towards “purpose-driven” suppliers, which includes a few categories, with diversity being one of them. In the last year, we have been spending on a “Multi-cultural Marketplace” for a variety of our pharmaceutical clients.
Our WBE certification proves we don’t just define who we are, but rather work towards being a partner that our clients can be proud to work alongside, by providing the opportunity to align themselves with an organization that stands for positive and inclusive change—while driving business transformation. Because we hold this purpose behind our organization through this certification, we can share with our peers, clients, and communities. Together, we extend the reach of our core values, creating a network of purpose-driven partners that goes beyond the boundaries of our singular organization.
